Undip Vocational School Administration Manager, Fajar Purwantoro and Head of the Applied Spatial Planning and Land Undergraduate Study Program Khristiana Dwi Astuti received a visit from the Purworejo Regency Government delegation at the Tembalang Campus.
Universities have a strategic role in disseminating knowledge and assisting with bureaucratic tasks outside the campus environment.
Academics from universities are considered to have expertise that can be used to solve various problems and challenges faced by government officials.
This was the focus of the discussion forum on the cooperation agreement between the Purworejo Regency Government (Pemkab) and the Undip Vocational School (SV), which was held at the Tembalang Campus. The agenda was attended by various parties, including the Head of the S1 Applied Spatial Planning and Land Planning Study Program, the Manager of the Administration Section of the Undip Vocational School, representatives from the Department of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection and Community and Village Empowerment (DPPPAPMD), as well as representatives from the Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Purworejo Regency.
Bagas Adi Karyanto, S.sos., M.M., Secretary of DPPPAPMD, stated that input and suggestions from academics were very much needed to assist the bureaucracy in serving the interests of the community, especially in determining village boundaries in Purworejo Regency.
Determining regional boundaries is very important because it is a supporting factor for regional development and progress. If territorial boundaries are not clear, this can hamper the development process in the village and has the potential to cause conflict between residents regarding territorial line disputes.
The Purworejo Regency Government delegation is optimistic that involving higher education institutions will make a positive contribution in responding to the various challenges faced. It is hoped that expertise and expertise from higher education institutions can provide solutions to solve these problems.
Khristiana Dwi Astuti S.T., M.T., Head of the S1 Applied Spatial Planning and Land Planning Study Program, expressed her appreciation for the Purworejo Regency Government’s steps in building synergy with the Undip Vocational School. His party is ready to make a full contribution in efforts to build good cooperation with the regional government.
Apart from that, the lecturer team has also gone directly to the field to provide suggestions and input to support the Purworejo Regency Government in providing maximum public services. This forum is also important as part of efforts to strengthen the role of universities in carrying out the demands of the tri dharma of higher education, namely lectures, research, and community service.
