Figure 1: PAMSIMAS Application

Students of the Thematic Community Service Program (KKN) of Diponegoro University (UNDIP) have succeeded in realizing technology-based innovation to support PAMSIMAS Service Management in Lerep Hamlet by creating a web-based application for Lerep Village, West Ungaran. The application was developed from October to November 2024 because several problems still occurred in several PAMSIMAS hamlets. The application was created using the MERN Stack framework and has gone through all stages of work on the Waterfall software development method, from needs analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation until the website application can finally run. The Digitalization Program, which is under the guidance of supervising lecturers Mr. Yuli Christiyono, ST, MT., Mrs. Yayuk Astuti, S. Si, Ph. D. and Mr. Pangi, S.T., MT, is a step to support the digitalization era, and aims to create a more efficient system, in Lerep Village, especially in Lerep Hamlet.

The government holds the PAMSIMAS program to improve community access to clean water and sanitation. However, in the digital era, PAMSIMAS management in many areas still faces several obstacles, including Lerep Village. This village, which consists of 8 hamlets, has great potential for optimizing clean water management, given abundant groundwater resources. However, challenges in management, especially in Kretek, Tegalrejo, Soka, and Lerep Hamlets, are a significant concern. So, as a form of Contribution to the community, Diponegoro University students created a Website for the PAMSIMAS Management system.

This website was created after conducting visits and interviews with PAMSIMAS managers in Lerep Hamlet so that several potential and development problems related to PAMSIMAS management that are currently running were obtained, namely:

The payment recording system & checking of water meters is done manually
Manual complaint system
The receipt or receipt system as proof of payment is still manual
The PAMSIMAS monthly recording system is still manual.

The interview results were then summarized and discussed with the KKN team regarding the contents and the application’s workings. After the application functions are determined and approved by the Field Supervisor (DPL), the search for hosting services is carried out. It was found that the cheapest hosting provider is around 1 million rupiah and will be supported by UNDIP for using the server for the first year.

With support from Dusun Lerep, the data on income costs, customer data, and monthly billing history can be used as the starting point for the application so that it can run in the future. This data produces a feature in the form of a unique QR code for each customer that managers can use to record bills and manage complaint reports or checks, all of which can be exported to Excel.

The application has been running, and the DPL has approved the latest results, so the KKN students conducted socialization with the PAMSIMAS management. The PAMSIMAS management of Dusun Lerep attended the socialization with enthusiasm and positive responses.

Through this KKN Program, Diponegoro University KKN Students, together with the support of Supervisors and the village, have succeeded in integrating technology into the community management system, where the technology can create real solutions to the challenges faced by the town, especially Lerep Hamlet. This web-based PAMSIMAS management application is expected to be the first step towards increasing efficiency and transparency of services in the hamlets of Lerep Village, as well as being a motivation for other villages to adapt in the digital era.”
