Studying in a pandemic is a challenge in itself. Lecturers in various ways try to provide knowledge to students. However, not all course achievements can be obtained through online lectures (kulon). One of the things that must be done is to practice in the field. Why is this so important? A good Spatial Planning product must have the latest data, especially the current condition of land use and this becomes one of the considerations in formulating the spatial pattern of an area.
One form of cooperation between the Spatial Planning and Land Management Study Program with Partners – the Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency (PUPR) of Temanggung Regency in the field of education is that Temanggung Regency is a field practicum laboratory for 5th semester PTRP students. In practicum activities for Geospatial Data Processing Studio Course. Students update land use which is carried out using the groundcheck data collection method in Kedu, Bulu, Ngadirejo, Kledung, Temanggung, Parakan and Kranggan sub-districs. In accordance with the survey design that has been prepared, students take several sample points to review the land use of the area. Not only that, students also coordinate village boundaries with their respective apparatus.
Students admitted that they were very happy to be able to practice surveys in the field because this would further hone students’ skills. In addition, lecturers also escort students, so that the challenges that occur in the field can be resolved. In the mentoring activity, students said that there were differences in regional boundaries. therefore, it must include the source as validation and it is necessary to check the boundaries of the area.
