On Friday, February 2, 2024, the Land and Spatial Planning Study Program students handed out the results of the Diponegoro University Team 1 Real Work Lecture (KKN) monodisciplinary program. This monodisciplinary program takes the form of creating a map of the distribution of MSMEs. This map of the distribution of MSMEs in Kalangan Village was created because there was no data or media for distributing information regarding MSMEs in Kalangan Village and to develop MSMEs to support the economy of residents in the village of Liang. This MSME distribution map can become a visualization for communicating information in mapping MSMEs.

Based on this background, Anindita Alifa, who is one of the students of Diponegoro University (Undip) Real Work Lecture Team (KKN) 1 in 2024, is running a monodisciplinary program according to her field of science for Kalangan Village, Pedan District, Klaten Regency. On February 2, 2024, Undip KKN students launched the results of making the Kalangan Village MSME Distribution Map and submitted it to the Kalangan Village office. Kalangan Village, with 14 RWs, has various kinds of superior MSMEs that have potential in this village. Based on the primary survey results using Geotagging on existing MSMEs, the processing is then done using the Geographic Information System (GIS) via the ArcGIS application.

In Kalangan village, there are various types of MSMEs, including duster, brick, tofu, tempe, and tempeh chips. Most brick UMKMs, the leading potential of Kalangan village, are located in RW 12, RW 11, and RW 10. The dryer and tofu UMKMs are also in RW 12. Meanwhile, Tempe and Tempe Chips UMKMs are located in RW 03, RW 02, RW 01, and RW 13, and they are also the leading MSMEs in Kalangan village. The Head of Kalangan Village, Mr. Ratno Widodo, welcomed the initiative carried out by Undip KKN students. He hopes that the resulting Map of the Distribution of MSMEs in Kalangan Village can be a helpful guide in developing superior MSMEs in Kalangan Village in the future.
