BOYOLALI: Located at the northern tip of Boyolali Regency, Juwangi District is the focus of an in-depth study by students in the Applied Spatial Planning and Land Management (PTRP) Bachelor’s Program at the Vocational School of Diponegoro University. On Monday (November 24, 2025), at the Juwangi District Office, the student team presented the results of their Regional Profile study to district officials.
The event began with a video profile highlighting the unique characteristics of the Juwangi region, from its natural landscape to its strategic potential as Boyolali’s northern gateway.
Integration of Health Services and Challenges of Agricultural Innovation
In a dynamic discussion session, Juwangi District officials provided valuable input regarding updating public facility data. Significant improvements in health facilities and the development of government programs focused on rural health services in Juwangi were noted.
In the agricultural sector, the student study highlighted bananas as a key regional commodity. However, a real challenge was identified, namely, limited community innovation in processing and optimizing the added value of this agricultural product. This is an essential consideration for the planning team as they formulate more creative strategies for empowering the community’s economy in the future.
Telawa Station: A Strategic Icon That Requires Accessibility
One of the main points in the Juwangi spatial planning presentation is the presence of Telawa Station. As a regional icon with a highly strategic location, Telawa Station has excellent potential to enhance the sub-district’s attractiveness.
However, students and sub-district officials agreed that accessibility remains a significant obstacle. Massive improvements in the quality of road infrastructure are needed to make this strategic area more accessible, thereby stimulating sustainable economic growth and population mobility.
Synergy for Sustainable Regional Development
This presentation provided a crucial opportunity to integrate field data with academic studies. Through direct input from practitioners in the sub-district, PTRP students sharpened their analysis of infrastructure development, education, and health.
“Juwangi requires special attention, given its remote location from the district center. Our planning is aimed at strengthening connectivity and the economic independence of the local community,” said a representative from the drafting team.
This activity is expected to serve as a reference for the Juwangi District Government and Boyolali Regency in adopting more targeted, inclusive, and locally potential-based development policies.
